What is GLOBALIZATION

Globalization is a process of interaction and integration among the people, companies, and governments of different nations, a process driven by international trade and investment and aided by information technology.
It is a process of interaction and integration among the people, companies, and governments of different nations, a process driven by international trade and investment and aided by information technology.
This process has effects on the environment, on culture, on political systems, on economic development and prosperity, and on human physical well-being in societies around the world. Basically globalization is  interchange of understanding and information around the world.

Globalization implies the opening of local and nationalistic perspectives to a broader outlook of an interconnected and interdependent world with free transfer of capital, goods, and services across national frontiers. However, it does not include unhindered movement of labor and, as suggested by some economists, may hurt smaller or fragile economies if applied indiscriminately.

According to bbc news, Globalisation has been taking place for hundreds of years, but has speeded up enormously over the last half-century.

Globalisation has resulted in:
·         increased international trade
·         a company operating in more than one country
·         greater dependence on the global economy
·         freer movement of capital, goods, and services
·         recognition of companies such as McDonalds and Starbucks in LEDCs
·         Although globalisation is probably helping to create more wealth in developing countries - it is not helping to close the gap between the world's poorest countries and the world's richest.

Reasons for globalisation
There are several key factors which have influenced the process of globalisation:
·         Improvements in transportation --- larger cargo ships mean that the cost of transporting goods between countries has decreased. Economies of scale mean the cost per item can reduce when operating on a larger scale. Transport improvements also mean that goods and people can travel more quickly.
·         Freedom of trade --- organisations like the World Trade Organisation (WTO) promote free trade between countries, which help to remove barriers between countries.
·         Improvements of communications --- the internet and mobile technology has allowed greater communication between people in different countries.
·         Labour availability and skills --- countries such as India have lower labour costs (about a third of that of the UK) and also high skill levels. Labour intensive industries such as clothing can take advantage of cheaper labour costs and reduced legal restrictions in LEDCs.

Positive impacts of globalisation
·         Globalisation is having a dramatic effect - for good or ill - on world economies and on people's lives.
·         Some of the positive impacts are:
·   Inward investment by TNCs helps countries by providing new jobs and skills for local people.
·         TNCs bring wealth and foreign currency to local economies when they buy local resources, products and services. The extra money created by this investment can be spent on education, health and infrastructure.

·         The sharing of ideas, experiences and lifestyles of people and cultures. People can experience foods and other products not previously available in their countries.
·         Globalisation increases awareness of events in far-away parts of the world. For example, the UK was quickly made aware of the 2004 tsunami tidal wave and sent help rapidly in response.
·         Globalisation may help to make people more aware of global issues such asdeforestation and global warming - and alert them to the need forsustainable development.

Negative impact of globalisation
·         Critics include groups such as environmentalists, anti-poverty campaigners andtrade unionists.
·         Some of the negative impacts include:
·         Globalisation operates mostly in the interests of the richest countries, which continue to dominate world trade at the expense of developing countries. The role of LEDCs in the world market is mostly to provide the North and West with cheap labour and raw materials.

·         There are no guarantees that the wealth from inward investment will benefit the local community. Often, profits are sent back to the MEDC where the TNC is based. Transnational companies, with their massive economies of scale, may drive local companies out of business. If it becomes cheaper to operate in another country, the TNC might close down the factory and make local people redundant.
·         An absence of strictly enforced international laws means that TNCs may operate in LEDCs in a way that would not be allowed in an MEDC. They may pollute the environment, run risks with safety or impose poor working conditions and low wages on local workers.

·         Globalisation is viewed by many as a threat to the world's cultural diversity. It is feared it might drown out local economies, traditions and languages and simply re-cast the whole world in the mould of the capitalist North and West. An example of this is that a Hollywood film is far more likely to be successful worldwide than one made in India or China, which also have thriving film industries.
·         Industry may begin to thrive in LEDCs at the expense of jobs in manufacturing in the UK and other MEDCs, especially in textiles.
·         Anti-globalisation campaigners sometimes try to draw people's attention to these points by demonstrating against the World Trade Organisation. The World Trade Organisation is an inter-government organisation that promotes the free flow of trade around the world.

So conclusion Globalisation, a result of social development, can be described as the increase in cross-broader trade and influence on the economic and social behaviour of nation states (David Begg, 2003:272). This process has affected the world widely and deeply, principally in economics, industrial, technological, political and cultural aspects.
Over the past decade, as the liberalization of national and openness of global markets, globalisation has benefitted the world significantly, such as income improved, increase of imports and exports, industrial development, thus, free flow of trade, capital and information have produced the best outcome for growth and human welfare. Therefore, it is little doubt that globalisation has positive impact on developed and developing countries so we as citizen have to do something to better up the system of globalization.

in the end i would like to share with you guys some picture. =p

9 tips to STUDY SMART

Building an Understanding
Learning is a process similar to building a house. You aren’t fed the complete picture. Limitations on communication prevent the instantaneous transmission of knowledge. Instead you listen to lectures, read textbooks and take painstaking notes to try and comprehend a subject.
You are fed building supplies, bricks, mortar and glass. It is up to you to assemble the building. Unfortunately, most learning strategies fall into two basic types:

1.Memorization – Instead of building anything you simply stare at each brick for several minutes trying to record its position.

2.Formulas – This is the equivalent to being blind, fumbling around a new house. You can’t see the building itself but you learn to come up with simple rules to avoid walking into walls.
1.Get organized

Staying organized is key. Make sure you have a notebook for each. When you prepare to study, have all the materials – syllabus, pens, paper, pencils, calculator or whatever you'll need for that particular study session. Use a planner to keep track of long- and short-term projects. Set a schedule and stick to it.

2.Rethink reading

Painstakingly reading every word may not be your best strategy. Learn to scan chapter headings, introductions, summaries and keywords. Read actively, searching for the main points. Take notes and write summaries.
3.Turn off your phone

When it comes to studying, multi-tasking is a myth. Since you're studying in shorter chunks of time. Pls turn off your phone. Reward yourself after a productive hour or so with a quick peek – but get back to work until you've accomplished your mission.

4.Use All Your Senses

Abstract ideas are difficult to memorize because they are far removed from our senses. Shift them closer by coming up with vivid pictures, feelings and images that relate information together. When I learned how to do a determinant of a matrix, I remembered the pattern by visualizing my hands moving through the numbers, one adding and one subtracting.

5.Teach It

Find someone who doesn’t understand the topic and teach it to them. This exercise forces you to organize. Spending five minutes explaining a concept can save you an hour of combined studying for the same effect.
6.Study smart

When you read through a textbook, every piece of information should connect with something else you have learned. Fast learners do this automatically, but if you leave islands of information, you won’t be able to reach them during a test.

7.Creating Your Ideal Study Environment

Taking the time to set up your study environment, will assist you immeasurably with developing smart study habits.

8.Creating a Sense of Well-being

There is no doubting that our health and well-being are closely tied to our clarity of thought. As such, you need to led a healthy life style. Being good in mental and physical. And eat healthy food and conduct a healthy life style. Need more info you can go to WHY AND WAY TO LEAD A HEALTHY LIFE STYLE.

9.Importance of Taking Study Breaks

The final step along your journey towards creating smart study habits, is to acquire an understanding of the importance of incorporating regular study breaks into your study regime. So just take a study break and I tell you. You won’t regret. J

Things You Should Insist on No Matter What People SAY

Life can get pretty crazy at times. Sometimes we forget how important it is to actually listen to ourselves instead of others. Happiness is dependent upon ourselves!!!!! There are some things in life you should always insist on doing--You, must stand firm no matter what people say to you. Because you are what you are think of…
1. Insist on chasing your dreams

To some people your dreams might sound far-fetched, completely unobtainable, or downright silly. No matter what other people say to you, always insist on following your dreams. If you give in, or rather, give up on your dreams, you will never know what could have happened. You only have one life to live, so you might as well give it everything you’ve got. Forget the haters.
2. Insist on being the bigger person

All situations and arguments are not created equally. Being the bigger person will ultimately make you feel better. Other people might disagree and say you should have fought back, or whatever else you should have done, but they don’t have to live with the consequences. Be the bigger person in life and move on. Trust me, you will be the one who wins in the long run.

3. Insist on forgiveness

Forgiveness is not an easy thing. However, insisting on being forgiving will make you a happier person. Once you forgive someone you feel a weight that is lifted off your shoulders. Forgiving someone doesn’t mean you go back to the way things were before, but it does mean letting yourself move on in a positive direction—and that’s never a bad thing.
4. Insist on seeing the glass half-full

Screw that glass-half-empty view. Positivity is a powerful thing. The more positive a thinker you are, the more positive outcomes you will see in your life. Keep those negative thoughts out, and those negative people out too. There is almost always a bright side to a situation, and focusing on that will help get you through.

5. Insist on staying true to yourself

No matter what other people say or do, you should always be true to yourself. Throughout our lives people will try to shape our ideas, or even try and get us to do things we don’t believe in, which is why you should always be true to yourself. Make decisions for yourself, and never compromise who you are.

7. Insist on learning from your mistakes

No matter what people say, you will make mistakes in your life. Life is a learning process in itself. Some people will make you feel bad about your mistakes, or insult you for making them. However, don’t let that stand in your way from learning from them. Accept your mistakes fully and really figure out what went wrong. Knowledge is power.

8. Insist on sticking up for what you believe in

We will all be tested at some point in life to go against what we believe in. Our morals are a strong part of who we are, and it is important to stand up for what you believe. No matter what other people say or try to influence you with, stand tall against them.

10. Insist on letting go of the past

It’s hard to let go of the past sometimes, but it can really be affect your future. No matter what anyone has to say about it, insist on letting go of your past and previous grudges, and focus on the here and now. The past might have made you who you are, but the future holds the power to change you into who you want to be. Let go and feel the freedom that comes with it.

11. Insist on embracing change and creativity

A popular aphorism is,”You cannot solve a problem in the same state of consciences that created it.” Not everything can be solved in a traditional way. Change and creativity are vital in today’s world. Things are always changing, so why should we be any different? Embracing change will help you grow as a person, and bring you opportunities that you would have otherwise missed out on. Creativity allows your mind a chance to think differently and more freely. Don’t listen to what others say about how change is bad, instead make something out of it.

12. Insist on paying it forward

Not everyone is as fortunate as you might be. Try to remember that everyday. Take some time and give back to the community that you live in. Giving back will boost your mood no matter what you are going through. No matter what people might say to bring you down, just remember that you have the power to brighten someones else’s day. Always pay it forward.

well that it i hope you enjoy and learn something have a nice day =p
